Practice Update

Posted by 2nd To None Track and Field Club at Mar 22, 2020 11:56AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Family,

Although we have received guidance regarding practice not being suspended by Mr. William Moore the AAU Region 5 Track and Field District Sports Director, we have decided to continue to suspend practice until Thursday, April 2nd. This decision was made to ensure that we continue to protect our athletes and family during this crisis. May the Lord continue to keep you and your family safe.

The attached workout should be included this week to the previous posted mileage and hills posted last week.

Practice Guidance Update!

Posted by Kenneth Williams at Mar 20, 2020 7:19AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

We recently received more guidance from Mr. William Moore the AAU Region 5 Track and Field District Sports Director. He informed us that Practice, although not a sanctioned event, is not suspended but must adhere to the 10 person mandate imposed by government. I will wait until Sunday to send out information regarding resuming practice to ensure that nothing else Statewide or locally comes out that may conflict with this guidance.

Family,

Today will be a beautiful day to get out with your Athlete. Take them to Pratt Park and utilize the following workout plan:

Ages 6-9yrs = 1 Mile Warmup + 1 Mile Cool Down: total: 2miles
6 Hill Runs between Miles

Ages 10 – 17= 1 Mile Warmup + 1 Mile + 1 Mile Cool Down; total: 3 Miles

This crisis will pass and we need them to be ready!!! Continue to exercise social distance.

Family,

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing developments regarding COVID-19 (“Coronavirus”), 2nd to none is suspending practice as directed by the AAU President, Dr. Roger J. Goudy until April 2nd, 2020. We anticipate future guidance on or about April 2nd as to how to move forward. In the meantime, we would hate for our athletes to lose the fitness level they have obtained so far. Therefore, we ask you as parents to apply the following training schedule to your athlete

Monday – Thursday and Saturdays or Sundays until we resume organized training.

Monday – Thursday
Ages 6-9yrs = 1 Mile Warmup + 1 Mile Cool Down: total: 2miles
6 Hill Runs between Miles

Ages 10-16yrs = 1 Mile Warmup + 1 additional Mile + 1 Mile cooldown: total: 3 miles
6 Hill Runs between Miles

Friday
REST

Saturday or Sunday

Ages 6-9yrs Mileage= 1 Mile Run
Ages 10-16 Mileage= 2 Miles
Ages 6-9 Sprinters= 10-30 yards 10 Reps with 3mins rest between reps.
Ages 10-16 Sprinters= 10-30 yards 12 Reps with 3mins rest between reps

These are trying times, but with the help of our Lord and Savior we will get through it all. Thank you for understanding.

Parents and Athletes

Practice will be held today at Pratt Park at 5:45pm.

We are tracking COVID-19. The safety and health of our athletes is our top priority. During practice we will exercise social distance and work in small groups.

Please continue to exercise caution before during and after practice.

There are currently no vaccines available to protect you against human coronavirus infection. To reduce your risk of infection or transmitting the virus to others:
• wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
• avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
• avoid close contact with people who are sick; and stay home while you are sick.

As of 12 March 2020; in light of the ongoing developments as a result of COVID-19 (“Coronavirus”), the AAU is temporarily suspending ALL AAU events, for the next 3 weeks, effective immediately. The AAU will continue to monitor the situation on a national, regional, state and local level. We will keep you updated as the situation evolves. This may impact our current schedule.

If the season is cancelled we will make a decision about how to handle the remainder of our season. The tentative schedule is attached.
