Parents,

Our next track meet is this Sunday at Gainesville High School located at 13150 University Blvd., Gainesville, VA 20155. I will need to know who is attending by the end of practice on Wednesday. Registration for athletes is $12.00 each and can be sent to $22oNone via Cashapp.

➢ Due to potential showers, a final decision will be made no later than two days before the start of the meet. If we experience inclement weather during the day, we will adjust the schedule during the track meet. Upon registration, if a decision is made to cancel the meet, a full refund will be provided to all participants. However, once the meet commences and it has been determined that the weather will not pose any issues, no refunds will be issued.
➢ Spectators must purchase a wristband through the Spectator Payment link. This link will be sent to the team coach/staff with unattached and registered athletes. Teams may share the link with parents.
➢ Cost: $10 all day. Wristbands are required to enter the track meet.
➢ The spectator link will be posted on www.CoachO.com and will go live two weeks before the start of the track meet.
➢ RAIN OR SHINE – NO REFUNDS ON SPECTATOR WRISTBANDS.

Here is the schedule for the season. Please note dates are subject to change beyond our control. The dates highlighted in yellow have not been confirmed in CoachO, which means these meets are tentative. Dates highlighted in green are required for your athlete to advance to the Junior Olympics.

The first meet is this coming Saturday in Norfolk, VA. The cost of registration is $15.00 per athlete. If you would like for your athlete to attend, please see Coach Paulette on Monday.

Practice will be at James Monroe High School located at : 2300 Washington Avenue, Fredericksburg VA

Due to inclement weather, practice today is canceled. This is NOT a day off!

If you have a treadmill, please have your athlete complete two miles with a slight incline.

If you have a stationary bike, please have your athlete complete 5 miles.

The drills are as follows:

Calf Stretch near the fence – 15 seconds on left & the right
Leg swing near the fence – 15 seconds on each leg
Toe walk
Heel walk
Knee hugs
High knees
A skips
B skips
Open hips backwards
Straight leg kick
Lunges
Karaoke – down & back
Runners stretch / scoops

Toe touch – 15 seconds

o Feet together
o Legs apart – stretch left
o Legs apart – stretch right

 Seating
o Legs apart – stretch left
o Legs apart – stretch right
o Lower back stretch – left over right with opposite arm pushing leg
o Lower back stretch – right over left with opposite arm pushing leg
o Knee hug
o Hurdler stretch – bent leg back or inside
o Butterfly stretch

25 Pushups and 25 situps should also be completed.
